Semi-Mental Promo CD

The promo CD for Semi-Mental (sent to the radio stations and the like, I assume) looks a little something like this...

(Cheers Fraser)

Word has it that the Saturday Superhouse promos are *much* cooler, and in the shape of jigsaws...

57

Potentially the contender for THE Biffy song. It's certainly the one that seemed to hook most people - it was certainly one of the two that stuck in my head after I went to see them the first time. (Well, the first time I remember seeing them!) This song and Justboy... absolute anthems.

Also released as the penultimate single from the Blackened Sky album.

The single features some of the most revered Biffy tracks:
57
Hope for An Angel
Time as An Imploding Unit/Waiting for Green

This particular release is noteable because it's got four songs shoehorned onto a single format; those of you who know their release rules will already know that singles can only have 3 tracks on them. the 57 single sees Time... and Waiting for Green mixed together so that as one fades another begins, in order to bypass this rule.

The band played an instore in Virgin in Falkirk on the day of release, and then at the Martell in the evening.

Lyrics:
The sun shone in, the glint in your eye
Your beautiful face, your beautiful face
I held her tight, close to my heart
I didn't know it would break, I didn't know it would break

I don't believe there's love anymore, it's all inside
We always said it's forever in this beautiful life
And I’ll try not to feel this music’s for you and over, and over, and over
And I’ll try not to feel this music’s for you and over, and over, and over...

And over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over,
and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over,
and over, and over, and over...
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright, it's alright !

Justboy

Justboy single released today, on CD and 7" vinyl.

Justboy is the band's second single under Beggars Banquet , and is taken from the band's forthcoming album, Blackened Sky . This was one of the band's mainstays at the point it was released, and was supposedly seen as the lead track for the album, rather than the 'anthem in waiting' - 57.

27

27 Released today:
7" Vinyl and CD

Beggars comments:

Young Glaswegian upstarts, Biffy Clyro release their first single for Beggars Banquet entitled ''27' on 9 April.

The band have recently recorded a session for the Evening Session in Scotland and appeared on BBC Choice. They are currently on tour with the Llama Farmers.

27 is the oldest and hardest to find Beggars release, with the CDs in particular being veryh difficult to get a hold of.
